From the beginning to current day

The beginning...

The beginning....

Dexter our Director, began his career in oak timber framing as an apprentice and after passing his training steadily improved his knowledge and skills to become the workshop manager. After gaining several more years knowledge and understanding of the trade he decided to launch Premier Oak Buildings. Dexter has been working with Oak for over 12 years now and combined with the years of experience within our extended team we offer over 50 years wealth of knowledge.

Our workshop

The company was founded in a small workshop near Taunton with Dexter and Shaun as a two-man team creating frames. As the business grew, they moved to a larger workshop near Yeovil in Somerset. The increasing demands of the business led to the hiring of Louise as the Office Manager, which resulted in the creation of a purpose-built office. Since then, the framing team has expanded with the addition of four more framers.

Tools

The workshop is fully equipped with all of the tools needed to create all size of frame builds from a porch to a new build house and we can comfortably have 4 oak framers working together at one time which means that our client lead time on a build is fairly quick.

Buddy our mascot

Buddy our Mascot

A constant companion in our office is Buddy who is our company mascot. Buddy has been with us throughout and enjoys his bed in the office where he keeps warm and cosy and keeps Louise company. Buddy also takes trips to visit our clients when the framing team are installing a frame so you may get to meet him!
