Back to the Grind: Embracing Challenges with a Smile As we return after the Easter break the familiar sound of hammers and the scent of fresh oak fill the air at Premier Oak Buildings. Stepping back into the workshop, we won’t pretend it’s easy – the sun seems to have taken a holiday of its own, leaving us with grey skies and a reminder of the chill outside. Adding to the challenge, we’re a knight short in our timber framing roundtable. Yes, one of the team members is still basking in the holiday sun! This week marks the beginning of something new, something exciting – a project that fuels our passion for oak timber framing and drives us to bring our best, even when the conditions are less than ideal. So, with our tools in hand and a vision in our hearts, we’re ready to transform challenges into opportunities. Here’s to the hard work, the shared laughs amidst the struggle, and the beautiful structures we’re yet to create. Stay tuned for updates on our latest project – it promises to be a testament to the beauty of oak and the unwavering spirit of our team. Let’s make something extraordinary together. |
We are currently working on a slightly different project. This is a modern design oak framed pergola using stainless steel brackets and post bases. The oak beams have been planed all round to give a smooth finish and a modern aesthetic. It is personal choice to have either planed smooth beams which give a more contemporary look or to use natural cut beams. Each give a different feel to the finished oak frame. Stainless steel is used to stop any staining of the oak. The beams are all laid out in the workshop having the brackets attached ready for installation next week.
It has been a full week here at Premier Oak Buildings.
Buddy managed a takeover! We finalized this beautiful oak framed glazed porch for a happy client. The trusses for our next extension have all taken shape, showing some excellent workmanship and great team work in the workshop. We deserve a relaxing weekend! Enjoy whatever you are planning but if you are dreaming of a stunning oak frame of your own give us a call, happy to talk through your ideas or plan a visit to our workshop.
